The Boston College men’s basketball team lost their 4th game in a row on Tuesday night. The #22 Clemson Tigers hosted the Eagles and held them to just 50 total points while forcing 19 turnovers, an impressive defensive showing against BC’s struggling offense.
Boston College guard Fred Payne led the way for BC with 20 points, but didn’t receive much scoring help from his teammates. No other Eagle scored in double figures, and Donald Hand was completely uninvolved in the offense with his 0 points on 0/3 shooting in 31 minutes. Other than Payne, Eagles completely no-showed on an ACC road trip against quality competition.
Clemson meanwhile was led by senior forward Nick Davidson, a transfer from Nevada. Davidson dropped 25 points off the bench, his season high. His 8/11 shooting from the field, including 4/6 from three-point land and 5/5 from the free throw line, couldn’t be slowed down by the Eagles perimeter or paint defenses. Tiger starter RJ Godfrey came out of the game after scoring 10 points himself, while Carter Welling also poured in 10 points in the paint.
Boston College has gotten off to a dreadful start in 2026 and things don’t look to be getting much better. A home match-up with11-5 Syracuse comes up next for BC, Saturday at 2PM.
