Notre Dame is still looking to add more talent to its 2026 roster

Oregon defensive tackle Tionne Gray will visit Notre Dame this week, and the Irish would love to get this portal gem.

Notre Dame just had a masterful two days with transfer portal commitments, and most Irish fans are applauding this fantastic effort. As much talent as the Irish are bringing in, there is one position that still feels a little light.

Notre Dame went into the portal with some needs, and most had the Irish pegged as a “needs at least 2 defensive tackles” type of team. Francis Brewu was a massive win, but they were unable to pull James Smith away from Qua Russaw and Ohio State. So… there is still a spot available.

Enter Oregon defensive tackle Tionne Gray.

Gray’s only scheduled visit (for the moment) is Notre Dame on Thursday, but it’s been reported that he will make one more visit on Friday to either Nebraska, Florida, Missouri, or Clemson. While there’s no reason to doubt that reporting, we have seen repeatedly throughout the process that visits don’t always happen.

Gray is 6’6” 336 pounds and has 3 years of eligibility remaining. Notre Dame may already have a national championship level roster right now, but Gray would definitely help.
