Eintracht Frankfurt conceded 53 goals in all competitions after their 3-2 defeat to Stuttgart on Tuesday. Only bottom-placed Heidenheim let in more goals than the seventh-placed team in the Bundesliga.
“After their equalizing goal, we completely lost our structure,” said Frankfurt’s sporting CEO Markus Krösche at the start of his rant after the game. "We allowed the chances too easily by not asserting any pressure on the ball. You basically learn that in the C-Jugend (U15 level).
“We didn’t do that in the situations, and instead took too much risk. We have to achieve a certain compactness against the ball as a team, and simply adhere to certain principles."
Krösche restricted himself from criticizing Kaua Santos after the Brazilian conceded three goals each in his first two games back as a starting goalkeeper, however. "We want an offensive goalkeeper. In the second half, he did very, very well and showed his strengths in that regard. That was a good reaction.”
