Zach Charbonnet questionable to return to NFC Divisional round vs. 49ers

Seattle’s running back depth takes a crucial hit in their biggest game of the season.

The Seattle Seahawks’ running back room suffered a major blow halfway through the NFC Divisional round game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Carrying a toss to the left, Zach Charbonnett went down awkwardly and quickly headed to the medical tent. Charbonnett is now questionable to return with a knee injury and headed to the locker room prior to halftime.

Charbonnett has been a crucial piece to Seattle’s running game, totaling 20 yards on five touches so far in the third 49ers game. Velus Jones Jr., who was elevated from the practice squad earlier today, is the only remaining active running back on the roster behind starting running back Kenneth Walker.

In Charbonnet’s absence, Kenneth Walker scored a key touchdown prior to halftime to extend Seattle’s lead to 24-6. Having spent all season splitting carries with Charbonnet, it’ll presumably be Walker carrying the load for the rest of this evening as Seattle looks to go to the NFC Championship.
