Alvaro Arbeloa has been very vocal in his press conferences about how he considers it an honour to coach players of the quality as those in Real Madrid’s first team.
On Saturday, he guided the team to their first win under him as Real Madrid took down Levante by a 2-0 scoreline at the Santiago Bernabeu.
While the game was anything but easy, the manager’s substitutions in the second half helped Los Blancosregain complete control and go on to establish the two-goal lead.

As reported by Diario AS (h/t Madrid Xtra) in a recent update, two players particularly impressed Arbeloa with their performances last night.
The first name that caught the manager’s eye and earned his favour was Arda Guler. The Turkish phenom came on in the 46th minute for Eduardo Camavinga and provided some much-needed creativity in Real Madrid’s midfield which they were lacking.
He went on to play a role in both the team’s goals on the night, indirectly contributing to the penalty won and then providing the assist for Raul Asencio’s goal in the 65th minute.
Franco Mastantuono was the second player who impressed Arbeloa on the night. He too did not start the game and only came off the bench for the second half, replacing Gonzalo Garcia.
The Argentine starlet provided the width that Real Madrid were lacking and complemented Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. much better than Garcia did. After all, he is a better winger than the academy graduate and stretched out the team’s width.
Having won Arbeloa’s favour, it remains to be seen if the duo are given starting roles in the team’s coming games. After all, the team looked far more potent and attacking with them on the field.
