Neal becomes MU’s third cornerback commit of the high school class
It may be portal season, but that doesn’t mean the wheels of high school recruiting stop turning.
Three-star cornerback Trashundon Neal became the second high school recruit to announce his commitment to Mizzou on Sunday. The Tigers’ newest commit had interest from other local power conference programs, namely Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State, and is out of Liberty North High School.
MU added another Kansas City area native, wide receiver Karsten Fiene from Lee’s Summit, earlier in the day.
Neal recorded 37 total tackles, including two tackles for loss, alongside one interception and four passes defended as a senior, according to his MaxPreps page. He also played at wide receiver and returned kickoffs and punts for the Eagles, hauling in 25 receptions for 316 yards and running for 250 combined return yards.

The 6-foot-2, 180 pound recruit becomes Mizzou’s third cornerback commit in the Class of 2026 alongside four-star signee Jaxson Gates and three-star Ahmod Billins. He is the Tigers’ 22nd commitment of the recruiting class.
Neal will add more size to MU’s cornerbacks room, where most of the unit’s players are between 6-foot-0 and 6-foot-2. As a three-star commit, he won’t be expected to make an immediate impact. But he gives Corey Batoon and Al Pogue another lengthy cornerback to try and develop into an SEC starting-caliber player.
