Another week of winter high school sports has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.
Last week, a Taunton wrestler reached 100 career wins for the third time this winter before the team put up a dominant showing to win the 2026 Cape Cod Invitational. Bridgewater-Raynham basketball put up big points to take down both of their Pioneer Athletic Conference foes while Somerset Berkley/Case/Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk hockey bounced back from a shutout loss with a pair of strong wins. Bristol-Plymouth basketball, Taunton hockey, Bishop Stang/Bristol Aggie hockey and Dighton-Rehoboth basketball also continued to look strong midway through the regular season.
The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Jan. 5-11 is Taunton wrestling's Anthony Vieira, receiving 51% of the vote. Taunton swimming's Jaxon Desrosiers came in second with 46% while Bridgewater-Raynham indoor track Gabe Ocampo's received 3% to finish third.

Harris had 24 points and 8 rebounds against Diman.
Josh Reidy, Dighton-Rehoboth
Reidy had 21 points against Apponequet.
Hockey
Breighdyn Simmons, Taunton
Simmons had a hat trick against Apponequet/Old Colony.
Gavin Rodrigues, Somerset Berkley/Case/Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk
Rodrigues made 40 saves against Plymouth North.
Wrestling
Will Buffington, Taunton
Buffington won the 215 lb. weight class at the 2026 Cape Cod Invitational.
Indoor Track
Gabe Ocampo, Bridgewater-Raynham
Ocampo won the 55 meter (0:06.64, personal best) and was the first leg of the winning 4x200 meter relay team at a South Shore League meet.
Swimming
Ryan Ducharme, Taunton
Ducharme won the 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard backstroke against Norton.
