After the FIFA president spoke out, the Confederation of African Football has broken its silence and issued a statement.

African football took a hit on Sunday night during the CAN 2025 final. The events of the final, with Senegalese players leaving the pitch after a decision they deemed unfair, prompted FIFA to respond with a sharp statement against the Lions of Teranga. Meanwhile, CAF also released an official statement on its website Monday morning. The organization announced that measures would be taken, without directly targeting the Senegalese side.

"

"The Confederation of African Football ('CAF') condemns the unacceptable behavior of certain players and officials during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 final between Morocco and Senegal, which took place last night in Rabat. CAF strongly condemns any inappropriate behavior during matches, especially those targeting the refereeing team or match organizers. CAF is reviewing all footage and will submit the matter to the relevant bodies so that appropriate measures can be taken against those found guilty," the statement read.
