Mississippi State wide receivers coach Chad Bumphis was recently welcomed back to Utah as part of Morgan Scalley’s staff, and one Bulldog receiver will be reuniting with him in Salt Lake City.

The Utes continued to add to their roster on Monday with the addition of redshirt freshman receiver Ricky Johnson, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound redshirt freshman played in 17 career games for the Bulldogs in a backup role. He totaled five receptions for 26 yards across his two years in Starkville.

Johnson becomes the sixteenth overall transfer to Utah, and the third wide receiver, joining Utah State’s Braden Pegan and San Jose State’s Kyri Shoels.
