Abella Danger’s broken heart was a major story following the College Football Playoff National Championship, as the Miami Hurricanes lost 27-21 to Indiana on Monday night.

“Danger,” a Miami native and lifelong Hurricanes fan, is caught on camera crying as fireworks erupt at Hard Rock Stadium moments after Indiana won their first national title. She can be seen covering her mouth while closing her eyes as tears stream down her face. She also smiles slightly.

“I hate this,” she says in the video while Indiana is celebrating.

Danger shared several updates on Instagram Story for her 9.5 million fans, including an emotional post-game message. “I hate this,” she keeps repeating while fireworks explode in the background.

She also posted in support of Miami’s performance. “Even though we lost, I don’t care,” she said. “That game tonight proved that no one else deserved to be in the national championship over Miami. Miami deserved that. Everyone counted us out. I don’t care if we lost. Those men out there are the best of the best. No one deserved that spot other than Miami.”

She added that the players were most affected by the loss. “That was not a blowout. That was not a lopsided loss. It was down to the wire. The only reason I’m sad is for these players who worked the hardest all season. TThey’restill winners. I don’t care.”

Later, Danger posted this longer message about her lifetime connection with the program: “I was born and raised in Miami,” she wrote. “I went to South Miami Middle School, five minutes from UM, where we all wore orange and green just like UM. I have dreamed of being a Hurricane since I was 10 years old. My love for the Canes is unconditional. I am and will always be a Hurricane, and we will be back with a vengeance.”

But she went on to add: “I will go to class with my head held so high because we made it to the national championship and 99 percent of schools did not.”

The emotional images went viral on social media, attracting sympathy, jokes, and skepticism.

In the same thread, one user commented, “I’m there for you, Abella, if you need comfort, come to my place.”

Another added, “I feel bad for her.”

Others mocked the incident. “These are the fakest tears that I have ever seen,” one person commented, while another joked: “I need my girl to cry like that for me when things do not go my way.”

This statement is supported by one comment: “One of the cameramen gave her a close-up during the game.”

Trouble had already materialized on ESPN earlier in the fourth quarter when Miami trailed 24-14 with 6:44 remaining, appearing anxious in a crowd shot.

The game also featured one of the season’s closest finishes.

Indiana finished 16-0, becoming the first team in college football history to finish undefeated and claim a national championship. The Hoosiers clinched the victory as quarterback Fernando Mendoza made big plays late, and a late interception thwartedMiami’ss last chance.

The Miami Hurricanes’ Carson Beck led a drive that brought them into Indiana territory in the final minute. Still, an interception on the six-yard line with 44 seconds left ensured that Indiana won.

Miami finished the season 13-3 after a year filled with heart and thrilling postseason victories. They began the postseason without a conference title, received the final at-large bid in the 12-team tournament, shocked national champion Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl game, and defeated Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl semifinal.

Playing at home in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami overcame a 10-point halftime deficit and came within one score three times, but each time came up short. As the clock ticked away for Indiana, the confetti began to fall, fireworks erupted, and tears began to flow for Danger as college football welcomed its first-time champion.
