Barcelona squad named for Slavia Prague

Hansi Flick has called up 23 players for Wednesday’s clash

The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana play a massive Champions League league phase game away to Slavia Prague, and Hansi Flick has called up the following 23 players for Wednesday’s clash:

Goalkeepers: Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Diego Kochen

Defenders: Alejandro Balde, Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Jofre Torrents

Midfielders: Pedri, Fermín López, Marc Casadó, Dani Olmo, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, Tommy Marqués

Forwards: Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghji, Juan Hernández, Dani Rodríguez

The team news is quite busy for this one, but we’ll start with the good news: Raphinha is back with the squad after missing out at the weekend with a knock, and the Brazilian’s return is crucial for a Barça side missing Lamine Yamal tonight through suspension. João Cancelo is also not available as he cannot be registered in the Champions League squad until the knockout rounds. Marc-André ter Stegen has been left home as he finalizes a loan to Girona, and Ferran Torres misses out with a hamstring problem and joins Gavi (knee) and Andreas Christensen (knee) on the injured list. Phew.

Predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1):

Joan; Kounde, Cubarsí, Eric, Balde; De Jong, Pedri; Raphinha, Fermín, Rashford; Lewandowski

The match kicks off at 9pm CET/WAT (Barcelona & Nigeria), 8pm GMT (UK), 3pm ET, 12pm PT (USA), 1.30am IST (India, Thursday), and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
