Former UFC heavyweight hurter Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who at one time was ranked as high as No. 3 at 265 pounds, was arrested for third-degree felony for false imprisonment earlier this week in Pembroke Pines, Fla., along with a second misdemeanor charge for touch or strike/battery/domestic violence.

Bond was set for $2500 for the former and $1000 for the latter, according to MMA Fighting.

Rozenstruik was also hit with a 48-hour immigration hold, according to the report. “Bigi Boy” was released from his UFC contract early last year following the paint-fume debacle in Riyadh. Rozenstruik would eventually resurface in DBX, scoring a pair of brutal “Dirty Boxing” knockouts over middling regional fighters.

Rozenstruik is currently the DBX heavyweight champion, assuming the promotion still exists.

The 37 year-old former kickboxer will likely appear before a judge this week and could be released if bond conditions are satisfied. Rozenstruik (15-6) should be considered innocent until proven guilty, but his arrest is just one of many over the last several years involving some of the biggest names in both MMA and boxing.

Expect more details on Rozenstruik’s arrest in the coming days.
