The drivers of IndyCar, NASCAR, and F1 competing in the Rolex 24 at Daytona

IndyCar champions, NASCAR stars and racers with experience in F1 are among the dozens of drivers taking part in the endurance racing classic

The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona is the biggest endurance race in the United States and one of the most prestigious sports car races in the world. This year, 60 entries across four classes with thousands of drivers are flocking to Daytona Beach for the 64th running of the 24-hour classic.

That list includes some of the best pilots in endurance racing from reigning IMSA GTP champion Matt Campbell to reigning WEC champion James Calado, as well as several former winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and of course, proven Rolex 24 victors.

But it also attracts stars from beyond the world of sports car racing, partly due to its prestige but also due to its placement on the calendar -- before most major racing divisions get underway for the new year.

So, let's take a look at some of the most notable names with experience in F1, IndyCar, and NASCAR, who will all be on the grid for the 2026 edition of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona:

Current IndyCar drivers 

Four-time and reigning IndyCar champion with 19 career wins, and the defending winner of the Indianapolis 500.

Six-time IndyCar champion and 2008 Indianapolis 500 winner, second on the all-time wins list with 59 victories. He already has three overall wins at the Rolex 24.

Two-time IndyCar champion with 43 career wins and 65 poles (most poles all-time), and winner of the 2018 Indy 500. 

Five career IndyCar wins and former Indy Lights champion. 

Four IndyCar wins including the 2022 Indianapolis 500. Also a former F1 driver with 97 career starts and a best finish of eighth.

Seven career IndyCar wins and a former pole-sitter of the Indianapolis 500. Also a three-time Supercars champion with 56 career wins there. 

One career IndyCar win (in a wildly impressive drive at Milwaukee) and a former Indy NXT champion. 

Two seasons as a full-time IndyCar driver with one podium. 

Two seasons as a full-time IndyCar driver with a best finish of seventh. 

55 career IndyCar starts with a best finish of fifth and a former F1 test driver.

Nine career IndyCar wins with over 100 career starts, but now a Cadillac F1 reserve driver who is embarking on his first full-time season as an F2 driver for Hitech.

Four Champ Car titles with 37 career wins between IndyCar and Champ Car. Also a former F1 driver with 27 career starts and a best finish of seventh. 

Six career IndyCar wins and a former Indianapolis 500 pole-sitter. 

Current NASCAR drivers

A rookie in the Cup Series for Trackhouse Racing who won ten NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races in 2025, leading all drivers and ending the year as the championship runner-up. Zilisch earned an LMP2 class win in his Rolex 24 debut two years ago with Era Motorsport.

 A veteran for Kaulig Racing with almost 500 Cup starts and three wins at the top level of stock car racing, as well as 18 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victories. He also has five wins as a Champ Car driver. Allmendinger also won overall at the 2012 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

185 career F1 starts with one podium and a best finish of second in the 2014 Australian Grand Prix; most recently on the grid with Haas in 2024.

37 career F1 starts with a best finish of tenth in the 2023 United States Grand Prix; most recently on the grid with Williams in 2024.

179 career F1 starts with ten podiums and a best finish of second in the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix and 2013 United States Grand Prix; most recently on the grid with Haas in 2020. Grosjean also has experience in IndyCar where he has six podiums.

Now a three-time champion of IMSA and two-time Rolex 24 winner, Nasr also has 39 career F1 starts with a best finish of fifth in the 2015 Australian Grand Prix; most recently on the grid with Sauber in 2016.

A WEC champion and Le Mans 24 class winner, Stevens also has 18 career F1 starts with a best finish of 13th in the 2015 British Grand Prix; most recently on the grid with Marussia in 2015.

59 career F1 starts with a best finish of fourth in the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix and 2013 Bahrain Grand Prix; most recently on the grid with Williams in 2017.

One career F1 start with Williams in the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, finishing 16th.

Two career F1 starts with Haas in 2020, placing as high as 17th in the Sakhir Grand Prix. Fittipaladi also ran a full season of IndyCar in 2024.
