Xabi Alonso struggled getting the best out of Vinicius Jr. Bar glimpses — games against Villarreal, Barcelona (twice), and Olympiakos come to mind — but Vinicius struggled with consistency, and Alonso was quick to pull himm in the second halves of games.
Alvaro Arbeloa has taken a different approach. He’s played Vinicius every possible second in his first three games in charge, and has publicly defended Vinicius over and over again, proclaiming his greatness and announcing he will play so long as he’s healthy.
