Hunker down, bundle up and get ready to watch your Rebs hit the road to take on the Kentucky Wildcats tomorrow morning. Here in Mississippi, we will be a good 5-6 hours into our winter weather adventure as the two teams tip off up in Lexington Kentucky.

The Wildcats are currently 13-6 (10-2 at home) and #31 in the NET Rankings. Ole Miss is 11-8 (2-2 on the road) and #87 in the NET. So this is obviously another massive opportunity for the Rebels to improve their resume with a Quad 1 road win.

Kentucky opened SEC play by dropping their first two games to Alabama on the road and Mizzou at home. They have followed that with four straight wins over Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee and Texas, with the last three being single digit contests.

Ole Miss is coming off a home loss to the Auburn Tigers, a showing that lacked the effort shown in the previous three wins over Mizzou, Georgia and Mississippi State. Another contest that is mind boggling as it’s not a question of talent with this group, but a question of who is going to show up and play with some heart that day.

From a personnel standpoint, look for Zach Day to get some run for the Rebels, as mentioned by coach Beard following the Auburn loss. Kentucky will be without Jayden Quaintance in this one after he returned for just four games. The Wildcats are led by their senior backcourt of Otega Oweh (Oklahoma transfer) and Denzel Aberdeen (Florida transfer).

The duo averages right at 28 points, six assists, seven rebounds and three steals per contest while both shoot 34% or better from deep. Ole Miss has had some success slowing down backcourt players, giving the Rebels some hope in this one.

Tipoff was moved to 10 am to get ahead of the storm in Kentucky. You can catch the game on ESPN or the ESPN app.
