NFC Championship Game is almost here and offensive tackle Rob Havenstein is ready

This is offensive tackle Rob Havenstein's 10th season with the Rams, so he has a different level of experience going into this NFC Championship Game

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. -- The NFC Championship game is finally upon us where the Los Angeles Rams will take on the Seattle Seahawks, at 3:30 pm PST. The last time this Rams team advanced to the NFC Championship game and won it, the roster looked quite different.

A factor that stayed the same is offensive tackle Rob Havenstein. The 2015 second round draft pick has spent the past 10 seasons with this organization. From where they used to play in St. Louis, Missouri, to where they've moved to in Los Angeles, California. Of course this kind of stint with a team creates a great amount of memories and experiences. That means the highest of highs and lowest of lows. One high for Havenstein was January 30, 2022 winning the NFC Championship, and then two weeks later topping it off with a Superbowl win.

It stands out that these two teams have met each other twice in the 2025 regular season, making the NFC Championship Game the third time they will face off. It's almost scary how evenly matched up these division rivals have shown themselves to be when they play each other. Both regular season games were thrillers. Week 11 ended in a Rams win by two points, 21-19. Then not long after week 16 came to a heart wrenching ending, as the Rams lost to them in overtime by one point, 38-37.

“It’s just you know the players a little bit more, for a lack of a better word intimately, about how you know, how they play, how each guy is a little different on their defense, and how that fits into their overall scheme,” said Havenstein on what it means facing a team for the third time in only a matter of weeks.

Havenstein noted that this game is very similar to any other week. He said that head coach Sean McVay had great messaging to the team, in that they need to be where their feet are. He said that this is a regular week in terms of how it is Sunday to Sunday, and they have a game against a great opponent in the Seahawks at 3:30 pm.

The 10 year vet has been a part of this Rams organization one year more than Head Coach Sean McVay who is in his ninth year coaching the Rams. “It's been awesome you know … obviously when Sean first got here you know one thing that didn't change is that he’s basically a genius. You know his photographic memory and just his understanding of just good ball,” said Havenstein.

Earlier in the week McVay said “consistency is the truest measure of performance,” so it will be interesting to see how the consistency of experience that Havenstein has will affect this NFC Championship game for the Rams.

“It’s going to be a heck of a game, and you know they know us and we know them,” Havenstein continued, “so it's who can execute the game plan the best.”
