Phillies Trio Appear On MLB Pipeline's New Top-100 Prospect List

The Philadelphia Phillies have three players appear on MLB Pipeline's new top prospect ranking.

The Philadelphia Phillies may not be known for an elite farm system, but they still have a couple of promising minor leaguers.

MLB Pipeline released its new top 100 prospect list on Friday evening, and a trio of Phillies players appeared on this new ranking.

No. 23 - Aidan Miller

Aidan Miller was ranked as the highest Phillies prospect on MLB Pipeline’s list, coming in at No. 23. The shortstop was also featured on this same list a season ago, and even jumped up 11 spots from No. 32.

Miller had a tremendous 2025 season, slashing .264/.392/.433 with 14 home runs and 27 doubles across Double-A and Triple-A. The infield only played in eight games after being promoted to the IronPigs, but made a strong first impression, recording nine hits in his first 28 at-bats (.333 batting average).

Right now, Miller’s ETA is set at 2026, but with Philadelphia already having a crowded infield, it wouldn’t be surprising if his debut was pushed one more year, and Miller appears on MLB Pipeline’s list one more time in 2027.

No. 28 - Andrew Painter

The next young Phillies player to make it on the list was Andrew Painter, who came in at No. 28.

Unfortunately, this was a steep drop from a year ago, when the pitcher was considered the 16th-best prospect in baseball. This decline is understandable, though, considering Painter largely had a rough season on the mound.

Painter spent 106.2 innings at Triple-A in 2025 and registered a 5.40 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP. On the bright side, he still had a relatively strong strikeout rate of 23.7 percent.

Even with these numbers, the No. 28 overall prospect is in position to possibly start the season in Philadelphia’s rotation if Painter does end up having a strong spring training.

No. 53 - Justin Crawford

For what could possibly be the last time Justin Crawford appears on a prospect ranking, he came in at No. 53 on MLB Pipeline’s list.

Both Dave Dombrowski and Rob Thomson have hinted that Crawford could be a major piece of the 2026 Phillies outfield, and the prospect has certainly shown he’s ready for that opportunity. Last season, Crawford slashed .334/.411/.452 with an OPS of .863 with 34 extra base hits.

With those numbers, there’s a case that Crawford isn’t high enough on the ranking. Either way, the Phillies are only concerned about whether the prospect can translate his game to the big-league level.
