Army men earn Inside Lacrosse No. 12 national preseason ranking

Army men's lacrosse tabbed No. 12 in Inside Lacrosse magazine NCAA Div. I preseason rankings. Army was No. 14 by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

The Army men's lacrosse team is ranked No. 12 in the 2026 Inside Lacrosse magazine preseason poll.

Released a week ahead of the January 31 opener with Massachusetts, Army was voted the favorite by Patriot League coaches to win the 2026 conference title.

The Inside Lacrosse poll has Maryland, Princeton, Syracuse, Cornell and Georgetown in the top five, followed by North Carolina, Penn State, Notre Dame, Richmond, Ohio State and No. 11 Duke. Following No. 12 Army are Harvard, Virginia, Johns Hopkins, Towson, Boston Univ., Rutgers, Albany and Michigan. Also receiving votes are Colgate, Denver, Yale, Fairfield, Dartmouth, Lafayette, Penn, Villanova, Utah, Saint Joseph's, Siena and Delaware.

The Terps gained 17 first-place votes. Defending champ Cornell had four, while Princeton and North Carolina each got one vote.

Army will face six teams from this preseason poll: No. 6 North Carolina (March 5 on road); No. 18 Rutgers (Feb. 7 on road); No. 17 Boston University (March 14 at home); No. 20 Michigan (Feb. 21 in Atlanta); and honorable mentions Yale (Feb. 14 at home) and Colgate (April 24 at home).

Army was ranked 14th in the USA Lacrosse magazine poll earlier in January. The magazine staff and contributors vote in that poll.
