Let’s get ready to rummmmmble!
Saturday is a busy day with Clemson at Georgia Tech, NC State off to Pitt, Miami jetting up to Lower Canada to take on Syracuse, Virginia Tech in an interesting matchup with Louisville, FSU saddling up to take on the SMU Mustangs, BC battling the Fighting Irish, Cal at Stanford for the West Coast nightcap and the most intriguing game of the day, UNC at Charlottesville.
Assuming they get to play ,that is, and they should. The massive snowstorm that’s set to pound the East Coast is going to drop close to two feet on Charlottesville but UNC should be on the way home by the time that things get serious.
It’s a chance for Virginia to stake a claim in the new ACC hierarchy. The Cavaliers match up fairly well with the Heels and Ryan Odom loves the new Tar Heel kryptonite, aka three point shots. That should be fun.
My goodness, the Yellow Jackets are feisty, but Clemson just took a loss at the hands of the Wuffies and they won’t forget that. Could Tech pull it off? Yes, but they probably won’t.
Speaking of the Pack, Will Wade is finding out about NC State Stuff and has yet to kill it off. Pitt is struggling but they have some heart and State has been erratic. Could they give back what they won at Clemson? Not likely, but possible. It’d be worth it to see another Will Wade press conference meltdown though.
After a 10-game win streak, the ‘Canes have lost two in a row and we’re betting on defense to push them to a win at Syracuse. It was -1 in Syracuse Friday and there is already snow on the ground. They’ll get about 2’ out of this latest mess.
BC and Notre Dame are both struggling but the Eagles have been more impressive lately. Doesn’t mean they’ll win though – Jalen Haralson has been one of the better freshmen in the ACC this season. The Irish also have size and it’s in South Bend, so we’ll take them. Snow is minimal in that part of Indiana ,but on Friday, it was -7 and it will say cold through next weekend.
Finally, the night cap, and no snow out in the Bay Area where we like Stanford to take care of Cal.
These teams know each other well obviously, much like Duke and UNC, and Ebuka Okorie is a brilliant young talent. We like him to turn it up against Cal’s defense.
