Andy’s Player Ratings: West Ham 3-1 Sunderland – Hammered By The Hammers

Robin Roefs: 6/10

Didn’t do anything wrong today, had a good attempt to save all three goals and generally did well.

Nordi Mukiele: 6/10

Had a difficult time in the first half against Summerville and got beaten in the air for the opening goal, thought he battled well though and came back into it. Ended up getting an assist with a lovely burst down the line and an even better cross onto Brobbey’s head.

Dan Ballard: 7/10

Had a relatively good game despite the score line, was still throwing himself into tackles even when the game looked lost. Came close to scoring in the first half from a far post header

Omar Alderete: 5/10

A bit wasteful with his balls up the pitch, defended well enough but seemed to lose his head a bit in injury time, going head to head with a West Ham player as a shot hit the bar.

Reinildo: 3/10

Easily his worst game for us, struggled against Bowen. Was done too easily for the opening goal, then got booked after fouling him in a similar situation and then got away with another before being hooked at half time.

Trai Hume (C): 3/10

Gave away with penalty after leaving a lazy leg out in the box but had been playing poorly before that too, just kept giving the ball away. Had a chance from a set piece but looped his header onto the roof of the net.

Noah Sadiki: 5/10

Was isolated in midfield, didn’t seem to have enough support and often ended up overrun as a result. Almost got us off to the perfect start though with a great volley from a clearance needing to be tipped over.

Enzo Le Fee: 5/10

Tried pulling the strings in midfield and did usually pick out a team-mate, put a great deep cross onto Ballard’s head in the first half but was watching rather than closing down for the third goal.

Romaine Mundle: 4/10

Just unable to get anything going and moves invariably broke down when the ball went his way.

Eliezer Mayenda: 5/10

Very quiet today, had a few runs but tended to find dead ends, other than one that created a counter attack for Brobbey but that ended with a heavy touch from Mundle.

Brian Brobbey: 6/10

Battled well with the centre halves as usual but the passing into him was often poor, did get a goal though with a well taken header from a great Mukiele cross.

Substitutes

Habib Diarra: 6/10

Gave us a bit of drive in the second half and played a really good ball up the line for Mukiele, in the lead up to our goal.

Dennis Cirkin: 6/10

Tried linking up with Talbi in the second half but neither got much luck out of Wan Bissaka.

Chemsdine Talbi: 6/10

Put a lovely cross into Isidor late on and tried to connect with Cirkin down the left, kept the ball well but struggled to get past the full back.

Wilson Isidor: 6/10

Had a bit of a wild effort from Talbi’s cross and gave us more of an aerial outlet down the right.

Luke O’Nien: 6/10

Had a miscued cross almost fly in from wide but the goalkeeper managed to touch it onto the crossbar and Isidor couldn’t quite follow up.

Man of the Match: Dan Ballard

Feels weird giving man of the match to a defender when we were 3-0 down at half time but he wasn’t at fault for any of them, battling well all game and sticking to the task even when the game was lost. Almost scored with a good header in the first half and prevented what could have been a goal late on with an important foot in to get the ball out for a corner.
