It was Justin Gaethje who walked away on top on Saturday night. It was Gaethje who battered Paddy Pimblett over five brutal, bloody rounds. It earned him a unanimous-decision victory to claim the interim lightweight title in the UFC 324 main event Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

Dominating the judges' scorecards, Gaethje earned scores of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47, ending Paddy Pimblett's seven-fight winning streak in the UFC and securing interim championship gold for the second time in his career. At 37, the Colorado native is 6 years older than Pimblett, who is 31.

Gaethje delivered multiple powerful right-hand strikes that knocked Pimblett down several times, forcing him to just barely make it to the final bell.

Fans eager for more UFC action won't have to wait long. UFC 325, which features a featherweight rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes, is scheduled for January 31 from Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. The main card will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
