Chelsea legend John Terry has taken a moment to mock rivals Arsenal on his social media last night after the latest round of Premier League games.

Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-1 yesterday afternoon in their latest Premier League match, which was an important win against a team that could have been pretty tough to beat.

EXCLUSIVE! The inside story around Cole Palmer and his Chelsea future being in doubt!!

Joao Pedro got the important second goal to put some distance between the two sides, and Estevao Willian opened the scoring in this game with a superb run and finish after he pounced on a Palace mistake.

Chelsea moved up to fourth in the league, albeit only for a while until another fixture effected their league position.

Manchester United played against Arsenal in what proved to be the most entertaining game of the weekend, with United coming out on top. This meant Chelsea dropped to fifth again in the league table, but it also meant something else!

Chelsea keep the record

Many had predicted that Arsenal could keep enough clean sheets to end the campaign letting in fewer than the 15 goals Chelsea’s mean machine shipped in the 2004/05 season.

But any hope of that record being beaten was over in the United game, with The Gunners conceding three goals.

Terry reacts

‘The record is safe for another year,’ Terry wrote on Sunday night.

In a video, he added: ‘January the 25th, 2026 and the record is safe. Man United 2, Arsenal 1. Still 25 minutes to go but the record is safe for another season. So Petr Cech, Paolo Ferrera, Ricky Carvalho, William Gallas, it’s time to celebrate with a bottle or a glass of red wine.

‘I’m going for the bottle for celebration tonight. But guys let me know your thoughts. Can this record of 15 goals conceded in one season ever be beaten? I’m saying no.

‘I have to say I was a little bit worried the way Arsenal started the season and how well they started but it’s only January and the record has already gone and it’s safe for another year.

‘I still get frustrated today, it could have been sub 10.’
