Huge game and opportunity for the BYU Cougars Monday night as the top-ranked Arizona Wildcats visit Provo for the teams’ first of two regular season meetings.
BYU is dealing with a quick turnaround, as they hosted Utah just a couple of days ago on Saturday. BYU got the season sweep of the Utes, winning by a final score of 91-78, including a standout performance by freshman phenom AJ Dybantsa — he put up 43 points. That win brought BYU to 17-2 overall and 5-1 in the Big 12.
The Arizona Wildcats are an undefeated 20-0 on the year with a 7-0 conference record. They also played on Saturday, defeating TCU by a final score of 88-53. BYU and Arizona will play again in Tucson on Feb. 18.
The Cougars and Wildcats used to be WAC opponents and have played each other 41 times in the past. BYU is behind a game, 20-21 in the series. The Cougars do have the 14-5 series edge at the Marriott Center. Monday’s game will mark the third time the Cougars have hosted a no. 1 team.
ESPN’s Matchup Predictor favors Arizona slightly, giving them a 57 percent chance of winning. Here’s how to watch:
