Team USA released its 232-athlete roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics on Monday, including 18 returning champions and four sets of siblings.
Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Team USA released its 232-athlete roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics on Monday, including 18 returning champions and four sets of siblings.
Snowboarders Chloe Kim, Nick Baumgartner and Red Gerard, skiers Jessie Diggins, Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn, Alex Hall and Chris Lillis, speed skater Erin Jackson and hockey star Hilary Knight are among the returning gold medalists on the roster.
The roster also features 98 returning Olympians, including seven who qualified for their fifth Winter Games. The team features 117 men and 115 women.
Figure skaters Madison Chock and Evan Bates, bobsledders Elana Meyers Taylor and Kaillie Armbruster Humphries, speed skaters Brittany Bowe, Casey Dawson and Ethan Cepuran and skiers Ryan Cochran-Siegle and Alex Ferreira were among the other medalists named to Team USA.
Vonn, Shiffrin and Kim were among 97 skiers and snowboarders selected last week for Team USA. The full 232-athlete roster can be found here.
Curler Rich Ruohonen, 54, was the oldest athlete named to the roster. Freestyle skier Abby Winterberger, 15, is the youngest Team USA athlete.
A total of 32 Team USA athletes come from Colorado, the most of any state. An additional 26 will come from Minnesota, while 21 are from California.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held from Feb. 4 to 22 in Milan, Cortina d'Ampezzo and other locations throughout northern Italy. They will include 116 medal events.
The opening ceremony will be held Feb. 6 in Milan.
