Former Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor revealed he still plans to play in MLB during the 2026 season.

Taylor, currently a free agent, began last season with the Dodgers before being released and joining the Los Angeles Angels.

“Oh no, I’m still playing,” Taylor said to David Vassegh on Dodger Talk. “Don’t pull the cord on me yet, Vassegh. No, I’m still playing. I’m down here in Arizona working out. Um, you know, I… I don’t know where it’s going to be yet, obviously with free agency being the way it is, but, um, I will be playing again this coming season.”

The veteran continued to say he’s currently focused on preparing himself mentally and physically for the upcoming season.

“I’m just focused on getting myself right,” Taylor said. “Being ready to show up in spring training and be playing like my best, the way I know I’m capable of playing. Um, trying to get the body right, make sure I’m healthy and able to stay on the field. That’s been a challenge for me the last couple of years.”

What Happened to Chris Taylor After the Dodgers Released Him?

The Angels signed Taylor a few days after the Dodgers let him go, and struggled with injury after joining the Halos. A pitch caught him in the hand after just 10 games and a fracture sent him to the injured list, and he reaggravated the injury just five games after his return. He played a total of 30 games for the Angels after leaving the Dodgers, posting a .599 OPS.

The veteran will look to have a healthier, more successful 2026 season after his disappointing campaign last year.
