Matthew Stafford’s NFL season was cut short after his Los Angeles Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game — but his night took a positive turn after the game.

“After leaving everything out on that field and coming up short, at 2:30 a.m., this was Matthew,” Matthew’s wife, Kelly Stafford, shared in her Instagram Story on Monday, January 26.

The mother of four — who shares daughters Sawyer and Chandler, both 8, as well as Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5 — with the quarterback, 37, shared footage from the family’s Nest camera. Matthew was seen going into each of his little girls’ rooms and tucking them into bed just before 2:30 a.m.

The next morning, the proud dad surprised the girls with donuts.

“Thank you for being such rockstars for me all season long! Y’all were the inspiration for daddy’s incredible year!” he wrote in a sweet note to the girls.

Kelly, 36, added in a separate slide, “Donuts for the most supportive and resilient little girls.”

The Super Bowl Champion narrowly missed a return to the big game after losing to the Seahawks 31-27 on Sunday, January 25.

“I can’t generalize six months of my life 10 minutes after a loss,” Stafford told reporters after the game, per ESPN. “So I appreciate the guys in this locker room a whole hell of a lot. Everybody that helped me and helped our team be the success that we were this year. And that’s all I’ll answer for you.”
