Tyrell Malacia is reportedly ‘looking for a solution’ to his Manchester United woes before Monday’s transfer deadline.

According to Voetbal International journalist Joost Blauuwhof, the full-back is ‘attracting interest’ from suitors in Italy, Turkey and, in case he wanted to ply his trade outside of Europe, the United States.

It comes amid Malacia’s heavily reduced role at Old Trafford, which has seen him feature just once for the first team all season via a two-minute cameo in the closing stages of the side’s Boxing Day win over Newcastle United.

To keep his fitness levels up, he has played for the Under-21s twice in January for a total of 135 minutes.

There would have perhaps been a slight chance that the 26-year-old could feature more following Patrick Dorgu’s unfortunate and untimely injury setback.

However, he would still be competing with Luke Shaw at left-back, and Michael Carrick is more likely to utilise Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui to deputise if Shaw sustains an issue himself.

Malacia enjoyed a half-season spell in the Netherlands last year

After returning from his 18-month injury layoff last season, Malacia proceeded to play eight times under Ruben Amorim before he was shipped out on loan to PSV Eindhoven in the winter window.

He ended his spell with an Eredivisie winners’ medal to his name, although the club opted against keeping him permanently.

The Dutch international then formed one-fifth of Amorim’s ‘bomb squad’ at Carrington over the summer, and by the end of the window, he was the only member to have not secured a move elsewhere – despite late interest from Elche and Eyupspor.

It remains to be seen if a deal could finally materialise for Malacia this time around.

If not, he – along with Casemiro – will leave United as a free agent when his contract expires in June.
