Liverpool are in for a wonderkid but the transfer window is nearly shut. One rival has made an offer.

Liverpool are running out of time to strike any January deals - if that's what they wish to do. The Reds are yet to make a move this month and have long looked content to stick with what they've got.

However, the injury situation at the back risks getting out of hand. Liverpool lost Giovanni Leoni to injury many months ago and he won't play again this season.

Conor Bradley is now also out for the rest of the campaign, while Joe Gomez picked up a problem at the weekend. Wednesday saw Jeremie Frimpong injured after just a few minutes against Qarabag and we're just waiting to see how long he's missing for.

Liverpool, then, are low on defenders. Both their first-choice right-back options are out, along with the centre-back they use to cover for them.

It feels like the Reds need to move for someone - either at right-back or in midfield to free up midfielders to play there. And the latter may be the direction they're heading in.

Liverpool like Jens Hjerto-Dahl

TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Liverpool are the biggest name in for Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl. The 20-year-old is attracting plenty of interest from Italy and Turkey right now.

In fact, Besiktas have made a €7m offer for Hjerto-Dahl ahead of the transfer window closing. It could force clubs like Lazio and Bologna to act fast - and we wonder if Liverpool may feel the pressure, too.
