Speaking on Cadena SER, Manuel Jabois delivered a sharp warning about Real Madrid’s current state and the potential reaction at the Bernabeu if results continue to falter.
“One of the stupid advantages of being knocked out of the Copa del Rey is lightening the calendar and they ruined that themselves through carelessness, through neglect,” Jabois said, criticizing the team’s approach and lack of focus following the loss to Benfica. For him, Madrid have wasted an opportunity to reset physically and tactically.
He then pointed to the emotional climate surrounding the upcoming European tie. “If Real Madrid arrive in trouble, if we bring back a bad result from the first leg, the Bernabeu will give Mourinho a standing ovation,” he said, suggesting that fan frustration could translate into support for the opposition coach.
Jabois’ main concern, however, was structural. “The team is broken in half,” he said. He cited Benfica’s decisive moment as evidence. “Benfica’s last goal is an example of how not to defend.”
