Strasbourg captain Emanuel Emegha, who will turn 23 this week, has suffered a muscle injury relapse and could be out of action for a further six weeks, according to L’Équipe.
Dutch international Emegha has been on the sidelines since early December 2025 with a thigh injury.
Having returned to training two weeks ago, there was expectation that he might feature in Sunday evening’s match against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain. However, les Alsatiens’ coach Gary O’Neil would not be drawn during his pre-match press conference and Emegha was not present as the Strasbourg squad spent Saturday night together in preparation for tonight.
Emegha’s latest setback adds to a challenging season for the goalscorer off the pitch. Emegha received criticism from Strasbourg fans earlier in the campaign after announcing that he would be moving to Chelsea in the summer, before receiving a one-match suspension from the club, for comments deemed unbefitting of a Strasbourg representative.
