Cardiff City have boosted their promotion bid by completing a loan deal for Liverpool left-back Calum Scanlon.
The 20-year-old has joined the League One leaders for the remainder of their 2025/26 campaign and will provide competition for Joel Bagan.
Scanlon made two Europa League appearances for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp before spending time on loan at Millwall last season.
The England youth international began his career with Birmingham City's academy and joined Liverpool in 2020 at the age of 15.
The defender will help the Bluebirds attempt to return to the Championship at the first attempt.
"When I found out that Cardiff City was interested in taking me on loan here, I was delighted," said Scanlon.
"I know it's a massive club performing well at the moment, so it's a privilege to be here and I can't wait to get working.
"Everything about the club made me want to be here; what it stands for, to the manager and the staff, how they approach the game and the style of football they play as well."
On Thursday, Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy was coy on the club's links to Scanlon, but has now suggested his new signing will immediately be in the frame for selection.
"We're very keen to involve him in our squad because of how much we feel he fits our style of play, and how much he can add to us," he said.
"He's very keen to improve all aspects of his game, which is very aligned with how our squad works.
"Coming in to compete against the players we have will be a big challenge for him, but one he's really up for."
Scanlon joins a day after Cardiff were held to a 2-2 draw at Burton, cutting their lead at the top of League One to two points.
