Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says the injury sustained by Bukayo Saka before the Leeds United match is “not too serious”.
The winger had to be taken out of the lineup ahead of the 4-0 win at the Emirates Stadium after hurting himself in the warm-up.
After going down the tunnel in some discomfort, the 24-year-old was replaced in the starting XI by Noni Madueke, who was involved in both of the opening goals.
Arteta issues Saka injury update ahead of Chelsea clash
Saka is now a doubt to face Chelsea in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final, although Arteta has not ruled out the possibility of him featuring pending further examination.
“We have to wait,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “Today he was better but we have to wait and see how he responds and make a decision.
“It doesn’t look like something too serious, whether he is going to be available for tomorrow or the weekend, we will see.”
Mikel Merino is set to miss the Chelsea game after the club confirmed he will undergo surgery on a bone injury in his foot. Max Dowman remains sidelined by an ankle ligament injury he sustained last month.
