Jérémy Jacquet completed his move to Liverpool on deadline day, before being loaned back to formative club Stade Rennais. However, L’Équipe understands that due to the medical tests he had to undergo in order to complete his move to the Merseyside club, he won’t be involved against Olympique de Marseille in the Coupe de France on Tuesday night.
With Jacquet out, Rennes are expected to go with a back three of Anthony Rouault, Alidu Seidu and Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal. Habib Beye will also have to do without another key player in the form of Valentin Rongier, who remains sidelined with injury. Sebastien Szymanski, a January arrival at Roazhon Park, is set to start up front alongside Breel Embolo at the Vélodrome tonight.
