Bo Svensson and Bo Henriksen reportedly won't become coach at struggling Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.
The Bild paper and Deichstube portal said on Tuesday that former Mainz and Union Berlin coach Svensson declined a Bremen offer because he lacked conviction to start the task.
Henriksen is meanwhile still contracted until 2027 at Mainz, where he had to go in December, which would have added difficulties to talks, the two reports said.
The Danes were originally named frontrunners to succeed Horst Steffen, who was axed on Sunday in the wake of 10 games without victory and 15th place just above the danger zone. Bremen's next match is on Saturday in Freiburg.
The news is seen as a setback for Bremen and their head of professional football, Clemens Fritz.
Fritz has said that they don't want the new coach to come from within the club's ranks.
Former Bayern Munich player Martin Demichelis has also been mentioned but Deichstube said he was not a top candidate. Demichelis has coached River Plate in his native Argentina, plus Mexican side Monterrey. He was also in charge of Bayern's reserve team.
