Man, that one hurt.
Man, that one hurts. Nevada’s late magic that pulled off an OT win over GCU came out against Boise State tonight. After an underwhelming first half, Nevada turned it on in the second half and some heroics from Tayshawn Comer gave the Pack another OT chance to pull out a win.
Unfortunately, the magic faded by then, and Nevada dropped to 0-5 in Quad 1 games in a 91-87 loss to Boise State.

Price was fouled again and made one of his two free throw attempts, making it six points for him early on. The first player outside of him to score for the Pack was Corey Camper Jr., who hit a floater after a 2-10 start for Nevada from the field.
Tyler Rolison brought Nevada into the double-digit category just under the 10-minute mark with a floater of his own to cut it to a nine-point deficit.
Camper put a brief pause to the scoring skid with a three-point shot and a foul, making it a four-point play and cut it to 30-14. Boise State responded with two, but so did Nevada as Tayshawn Comer scored in the paint to cut it to a 16-point deficit.
Price pushed himself into double-digits on a jumper, and Camper followed it with one of his own to move Nevada into the 20’s. Price finished the first half with 10 points and Camper finished with 14.
Nevada was able to get the deficit under double digits after Comer made a floater to open up the second half. The Wolf Pack tried to get the deep ball going but started 0-2 from beyond the arc to open the half.
Another three by Camper gave him 20-plus points as he ended the night with another career-high night with 35 points on 14-22 shooting. Price and Camper combined for 52 points.
Momentum built up after some fouls and great shooting for Nevada, turning in a 6-0 run for a 48-57 score with just over 10 minutes left. Comer hit his first three of the night on a step back to make it a 52-57 game on a 10-0 Nevada run. Vaughn Weems got in the action with a three-pointer of his own to cut it down to a two-point game.
Comer hit another step back three to tie the game at 60 under the eight-minute mark, a huge step up from Nevada’s first-half performance. Comer scored two points during the entire first half but finished the night with 24 points, going 3-6 from three.
Down three with just over 30 seconds left, Nevada gave Camper the ball and he threw it up to tie it, but it bounced just off the rim and a huge opportunity for Nevada went by the wayside. With about five seconds to go, Boise State missed two free throws that would’ve put the game away. Comer charged down the court and threw up a floater to tie the game 79-79 and send the game into overtime.
Nevada was only able to score eight in overtime and just couldn’t land that clutch shot they were hitting throughout the second half. Nevada finished shooting 32-65 from the field and 10-24 from deep.
Defense
Boise State opened up strong in the paint with two quick scores and a few rebounds to go along with them.
