The 26-year-old had shoulder surgery in July and missed October's World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta.
The two-time world champion is set to make his return after being named in Ireland's squad for the opening World Cup events in Baku and Antalya.
Speaking in December 2025, the County Down gymnast said that his aim was to return for the World Cup in Azerbaijan, which takes place from 5-8 March.
He has been named in the Ireland team for that competition and the World Cup in Turkey, which is held from 12-15 March.
Eamon Montgomery, Oisin O'Connell, Daniel Fox, Chester Enriquez and James Hickey make up the Ireland squad for both competitions alongside McClenaghan.
It is set to be a big year for McClenaghan, who has completed gymnastics' grand slam of Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth gold medals, when he competes for Northern Ireland in the Glasgow Commonwealths in the summer.
