The right-handed hitter — who had drawn interest from multiple clubs over the winter — will join the Friars on a one-year contract that guarantees him $4 million for the upcoming season, with the possibility of additional incentives, as per industry sources.
Andújar, 30, enters the season after a productive 2025 campaign split between the Oakland Athletics and Cincinnati Reds.
Last season, he posted impressive offensive numbers with a .318/.352/.470 with 10 homers, especially showcasing strong production against left-handed pitching — a trait that could give San Diego flexibility in matchup-based roles.
