Eagles coaching news is coming in quick, and new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is wasting no time filling out the staff around him. His most recent addition is another young, up-and-coming coach, Ryan Mahaffey, who will now serve as the run game coordinator and tight ends coach for Philadelphia.

Mahaffey is a former NFL fullback and joined the Packers staff in 2021. He has a lot of experience coaching different position groups, starting off as an offensive quality control coach before he was promoted to assistant offensive line coach after his first season. He spent two years in the assistant OL coach position, and helped Green Bay tie for No. 4 in the NFL in sacks allowed (62) and No. 5 in sack percentage (5.1).

He moved over to the coach the Packers’ wide receivers in 2024, and led the group to be the only team in the NFL to feature four WRs who each recorded 25 or more catches, 400-plus receiving yards, and multiple touchdowns. Mahaffey elevated the position to be among the best in the league, and helped several WRs hit career and franchise milestones.

Mahaffey is the latest addition to the Eagles’ coaching staff, which also includes Josh Grizzard as the pass game coordinator. The team is reportedly interviewing candidates to fill the QB coach role. Eagles legendary offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland announced he’s leaving the team, which means they’ll have at least one more coaching position to fill this offseason — but there could be even more changes on the way.
