Michigan’s Lou Esposito has finalized a deal with the Baltimore Ravens to become their next defensive lines coach, per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Esposito will join new Ravens head coach Jesse Minter’s staff. Minter was Michigan’s defensive coordinator in 2022 and 2023 and Esposito joined the Michigan program a year later in 2024 as Michigan’s DL coach. Esposito was not only considered an excellent coach, but he was also an elite recruiter. Esposito ranked as the No. 4 overall recruiter in the 2026 class, landing one five-star player (DE Carter Meadows) and four four-star recruits.

Esposito was just one of two staff members retained by new Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham. And now with Esposito headed to Baltimore, it’s running backs coach Tony Alford as the only coach remaining from Sherrone Moore’s staff. While it’s not optimal that there’s a coaching position to fill in February when all the hiring cycles are practically complete, there should still be no shortage of talented coaches lining up for a chance to join a Wolverines program on the up and up.
