The winner of the latest Bronson Battle Creek/Enquirer Athlete of the Week fan poll is Taegen Anderson of the Harper Creek girls basketball team.
Fans got behind Anderson to help her edge finalists Lavell Marshall, Josiah Wanzer and the Pennfield competitive cheer team. Anderson received 57 percent of the vote by the 5 p.m. Wednesday deadline. Thanks to her fans, she is being featured in this Enquirer Athlete of the Week Sunday spotlight.

Harper Creek, only 3-9 on the season, came up with a big win over city rival Pennfield in a 52-34 victory on Friday. Taegen Anderson had a monster game with 15 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and two assists against the Panthers. Earlier in the week, Anderson had her first double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebound in a loss to Hastings.
"Taegen's leadership goes far beyond the numbers. She brings tenacity, grit fearlessness, and a competitive drive that embodies the culture we are building. Her week of back-to-back double-doubles, with a career-high 20 points is something to be proud of," Harper Creek girls basketball coach Steve Casselman said.
