Spieth, Koepka among big names to miss cut at 2026 WM Phoenix Open

Scottie Scheffler got it going late Friday to make the weekend but there's several PGA Tour stars who missed the cut at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The streak is alive. One week after Xander Schauffele's PGA Tour best 72 consecutive cuts made streak ended, Scottie Scheffler kept his alive. The world No. 1 came into the 2026 WM Phoenix Open with 65 straight cuts made but things were precarious after one round.

A 2-over 73 put him behind the eight ball. A 1-under start through eight holes meant time was beginning to run out. But a birdie at the ninth got him to 2 under, one shot clear of the projected cut. Three more birdies on the back nine got him to 4 under and some easy breathing room to make the weekend and extended his active streak to 66.

However, there were several other big names who will not have weekend tee times on the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale.

The cut isn't officially official until the second round is complete. Play was suspended due to darkness Friday evening. All but three players were able to finish, though, so the cutline won't move.

Two of the biggest names to miss the cut are Brooks Koepka — who battled to make the cut on the number at last week's Farmers Insurance Open in his first PGA Tour start in nearly four years after leaving LIV — and Jordan Spieth, who took things down to the wire on Friday before it got adventurous, as they often do with the Spieth. He bogeyed the par-3 12th and the par-3 16th and then double-bogeyed the par-4 17th after chipping his second across the green and into the water.

Here are some other notables who won't be playing the weekend at TPC Scottsdale:

  • T71. Joel Dahmen, E
  • T84. Corey Conners, 2 over
  • T84. Brooks Koepka, 2 over
  • T93. Billy Horschel, 3 over
  • T93. Jordan Spieth, 3 over
  • T93. Tony Finau, 3 over
  • T109. Brian Harman, 5 over
