FC Barcelona secured another straightforward victory as they beat RCD Mallorca 3-0 at the Spotify Camp Nou today.
Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Marc Bernal clinched the win for the Blaugrana, which sent them four points clear at the top of the La Liga table.
It was a memorable evening for Bernal, in particular, as he scored his first-ever senior goal for Barça.
Coming after the midfielder went through a very difficult year, having suffered an ACL injury during his breakthrough campaign, the youngster’s goal was celebrated with great joy by his teammates and the staff members.
And, speaking to the media after the game, Bernal’s fellow La Masia midfielder Marc Casado expressed his happiness at how the teenager has progressed.
“Bernal’s recovery is a huge joy for everyone. When a player suffers a serious injury, we all suffer with him,” said Casado.
“The whole club is extremely happy for him, including the fans,” he added.

Meanwhile, Casado also discussed the outcome of the game and the team’s performance, highlighting how Mallorca seemed to drop their intensity after half-time, opening the doors for Barcelona.
“We knew Mallorca would be a difficult team. And so it was. It was very difficult to circulate the ball in the first half. In the second half, they were more tired, and it was easier to create danger,” Casado said.
The La Masia midfielder also downplayed any concerns about his physical condition after having taken a hit during the game, saying: “I had a bump, but it’s nothing serious.”
Up next for Barcelona is the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid in the coming week.
“We’ve reached the Copa semi-final in good form. We’re solid and have everything well prepared. It will be a tough tie, and we’ll have to give it our all if we want to reach the final,” Casado concluded.
