MANHATTAN (KSNT) – One of the most iconic figures in Kansas State football history is officially back home, this time leading the program he once played for.

New K-State head coach Collin Klein sat down for an exclusive one-on-one interview to discuss his return to Manhattan, the expectations of the ‘Cats and his vision for the future of K-State football.

As the Wildcats’ quarterback, he helped lead the program to a Big 12 championship and finished as a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2012, cementing himself as a fan favorite and one of the most respected players in school history.

Now, more than a decade later, he’s taking on a new challenge.

“This is home. When I walk out to that full stadium on Sept. 5th, it’ll become real,” Klein told 27 Sports. “I still remember my days as a player when I ran out against North Texas as a player for the first time. Those two days will be one and the same.”

Klein replaces Chris Klieman, stepping into a program that has remained a consistent contender in the Big 12. With spring practice approaching, all eyes in Manhattan are now on how the former Wildcat star will shape this next era.
