In the latest act of vandalism against the success of Chelsea, the club have just announced the departure of Paul Green, the Head of Women’s Football for the last 13 years of unprecedented success for the women’s team, building it pretty much from the ground up.
The club just put out a pretty terse statement given his incredible success and history, just a few paragraphs long, thanking him for his service.
What the experts are saying about Chelsea’s “seismic” move

We’re no experts on this side of things, so here are some quotes from people who are experts:
“Paul Green’s exit is a major fork in the road for Chelsea, who are now run by sporting directors without women’s football expertise,” said Tom Garry from the Guardian.
“It’s a seismic loss for Chelsea Women. In years to come, we’ll look back at this a bit like David Gill’s departure from Manchester United men, for example.”
If you want some context for the David Gill comparison – under him it was Fergie, titles and Champions Leagues. After him it’s been David Moyes, Ruben Amorim and mediocrity. If this move is even half as damaging as that, it’s a total disaster.
“It is hard to have much faith in what the club are going to replace him with. A huge amount of institutional knowledge lost,” wrote Jessy PH from the Observer.

Chelsea may have won at the weekend, but the way they conceded from a set piece will have been very frustrating for a lot of people. There is a potential solution to solve our increasing concerns about the defensive side of corners and free kicks.
Cole Palmer scored three against Wolves, but one journalist pointed out that it was actually another Blue who had been their outstanding attacker in the game.
