Boylan Catholic High School has turned to the college level for its new head football coach. The job goes to Joel Beard.
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Boylan Catholic High School has turned to the college level for its new head football coach. The job goes to Joel Beard.
Beard comes from the College of DuPage an NJCAA D3 team that won national championships in 2023 and 2024 and finished second in 2025. Beard was the Offensive Coordinator. College of DuPage had the top scoring offense in the nation last season.
Beard has also been on coaching staffs at Minnesota State University, Southeast Missouri State, and Missouri Western State University. He has also been the Athletic Director for the Beloit School District and for McHenry Community High School.
In a statement released by Boylan Monday, Boylan Head of School Paul Kirk stated, “We’re thrilled to have Coach Beard as part of the Titan family and look forward to seeing his experience helping out student athletes achieve their best both academically and on the football field.”
Boylan’s football team struggled last season posting a 2-7 record.
