Olympic champ Alysa Liu gifts Jimmy Fallon his own iconic hairstyle

Life has not slowed down much for Alysa Liu since she got back from the Milano-Cortina Olympics. The 20-year-old brought home two gold medals from the 2026 Winter Games, and one of them came in women’s singles, a historic moment for American figure skating.

Liu became the first American woman to win Olympic gold in that event since Sarah Hughes did it back in 2002. That is a 24-year drought, and she ended it.

Despite the whirlwind that has followed, Liu made time Tuesday for a guest spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

She appeared during the opening monologue after Black Thought from The Roots joked that Fallon needed a gold necklace to match his bracelet.

Liu walked out wearing both of her Olympic medals, but she did not hand them over. Instead, she gave Fallon a wig styled to look like her signature halo ring hair. Fallon, being the good sport he is, put it on and posed with her.

This was Liu’s third time on The Tonight Show. Her first appearance came in 2019 when she was just 13 years old and had just become the youngest United States champion in women’s figure skating.

That moment put her on the map. She came back again in December, right before the Winter Olympics kicked off.

But Tuesday night felt different. She showed up with gold medals in hand, a full-circle moment for someone who has been in the spotlight since she was a kid.

People love watching Alysa Liu skate. What sticks with them afterward, though, is how genuine and relaxed she is once the performance is over.
