Browns NFL draft: Best case scenario with 2 picks in 1st round

The Cleveland Browns have some immediate needs that they should address in the first round of the NFL draft.

There is a lot of speculation that the Cleveland Browns could trade down in this year’s draft. General manager Andrew Berry was comfortable trading down from the second pick in the draft last year, so it would not be shocking for the team to make that decision once again. However, if the team proceeds with its current first-round draft positions, it would hold the sixth and 24th picks in the draft.

The Browns have some massive needs at wide receiver, and should use the 6th pick in the draft to take Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate, should he be available. He is a pro-ready receiver whose size and ability to create explosive plays will really unlock another level for the Cleveland offense. Given his experience playing in one of the most competitive college programs in the country, he could provide an immediate impact for this team.

With the 24th pick in the draft, the Browns can use this spot to draft an offensive lineman. Monroe Freeling, an offensive tackle from the University of Georgia, would be an excellent pick at this spot and could address a key need for the team. Freeling could see his draft stock fly up after a very good NFL combine. Cleveland has dealt with numerous injuries at tackle in recent seasons and must address the position in the draft. His size and athleticism could make him a long-term solution for this offensive line, even if it takes him a few seasons to develop.

Let me know what you think in the comments – What is your best-case scenario for the Browns in the first round of the draft?
