The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing a lawsuit after a fan was hit by a drink container during a game.
Jennifer Wagner of North Carolina attended a Dodgers game on Aug. 6, 2025, and she said a BuzzBallz container “was thrown, dropped, or otherwise propelled from an elevated seating or standing area above” where she sat, reports Graig Graziosi of The Independent.
She claims that after she was hit by the ball-shaped container, “she felt immediate pain, and that in addition to bruising and swelling, she also lost the normal use of her arm,” Graziosi added.
Those injuries derailed Wagner’s California trip, including a visit to Disneyland, she claims.
“As a direct result of the incident, plaintiff’s planned four-day family vacation to Los Angeles and Disneyland was substantially disrupted and deprived of its intended enjoyment,” the lawsuit says.
Not only was the trip disrupted, but Wagner’s two young children experienced “fear, shock, and emotional distress” at seeing their mother hurt, the suit claims.
What is the Lawsuit Seeking?
It’s unclear what exactly Wagner is asking for, though she blames the Dodgers for alleged negligence and premises liability.
“She claims that the organization should have predicted that serving alcohol in ‘containers capable of being thrown or falling’ would create ‘a foreseeable risk of harm to spectators,'” Graziosi reports.
Graziosi added that Wagner is seeking “unspecified damages from the Dodgers, claiming that she has suffered physical and emotional pain, loss of enjoyment, and the burden of medical bills for past and future treatments relating to her injury.”
She is requesting her case be heard by a jury.
The Dodgers declined to comment to The Independent, citing the pending litigation, and BuzzBallz didn’t return their request for comment.
