Running it back.
No. 6-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight Jean Silva will meet former rival Bryce Mitchell in a submission-only grappling bout at Hype Fighting’s Hype Brazil event on March 11, 2026, inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This marks a rematch of their heated clash at UFC 314 last year, where Silva submitted Mitchell in emphatic fashion (watch highlights). The loss stung so badly that Mitchell later claimed Silva was “way too big,” prompting his move down to the Bantamweight division.
There was a lot of blood between the two in the first outing, and it was so bad that it caused Mitchell to not sleep and to be “lustful.”
Since then, “Thug Nasty” rebounded with a successful Bantamweight debut, defeating Said Nurmagomedov at UFC Abu Dhabi. He also tested himself in the grappling world at EBI 25: The Lightweights but was ultimately submitted by rising BJJ prospect Landon Elmore (watch highlights).
Silva, meanwhile, regained momentum with a statement win over Arnold Allen at UFC 324, putting himself back in the Featherweight mix. Rather than wait for his next Octagon assignment, the Brazilian will revisit this rivalry on the mats — this time in front of a home crowd.
Hype Brazil is stacking up as a must-watch event. Jorge Masvidal is slated to face Shara Magomedov in another high-profile grappling contest, while Arman Tsarukyan will headline the event.
