Red Bank Regional knocks out higher-seeded Neptune in girls basketball states

Riley Wheeler and Synai Blychanton scored 11 points apiece in Red Bank Regional's 42-24 victory over host Neptune Wednesday night, March 4, in the semifinals of the Central Group 3 girls basketball sectional tournament.

Red Bank (14-12), which will play Colts Neck in the final Saturday, lost to Neptune in last year's final. Further, Red Bank is the 6-seed in the tournament - but the Bucs didn't shy away from 2-seed Neptune. They blew away the Scarlet Fliers with 17-2 third quarter.
